Eidos has made a brave announcement today, revealing the system requirements for upcoming sandbox shooter sequel Just Cause 2 and declaring it a DirectX 10 only game. It won't run on Windows XP regardless of how spiffy your hardware is, in other words. The minimum requirements reveal that the game will need at least a Geforce 8800 or Radeon HD 2600 Pro to run, or an equivalent DX10 card with 256MB of video memory.DRM-watchers will also want to know that you'll need an active internet connection to register the game after installation. While the lack of support for Windows XP is unlikely to worry most bit-tech.net readers (what with the tech-savvy ways and spiffy hardware), it's still going to be a big problem for the majority of PC gamers.

Submitted on 2/12/2019 Review title of x4WillDrive.Puts on rose-tinted glasses.Just Cause 2 on PC paired with the community-made Multiplayer mod, which of course is unavailable on Xbox One, was (probably still is) an absolute hoot to play. Server plugins like a stupidly overpowered vehicle speed boost system and quick-buy menu coupled with the ability to play and talk with other players brought along so many opportunities for crazy antics and good times. Being able to play even the base title on Xbox brings back so many good memories. I never played much of the campaign, but I can tell you for sure that gameplay is stupidly fun. If you're considering buying it, I'd certainly recommend it. I'd even further recommend buying the PC version and downloading the Multiplayer mod for free on Steam for an unforgettable experience, if the mod still exists. Have a blast blowing stuff up!
